Cannon PowerShot S400

[Entry written Oct 12; photos from Sep 25]

I got a new camera. I wanted an itty bitty one, but the smallest I could find with an acceptable image quality was the Canon S400, so that's what I got. It's still fairly compact but not quite ready for a shirt pocket. The charger is very small and light, though, so as a whole package it's a great travel cam.

Staring Mike and Kalistrya*:

It takes pretty decent movies for a still cam:

And has a rapid-fire mode (don't ask me why the avi ended up backwards and in the wrong color model -- the original images out of the camera were fine):

The low-lighting ability, I am finding, sucks. The shutter is way too slow, and it often refuses to focus lock at all:
But with a steady hand, it does ok in brighter indoor lighting:
And you can set the shutter speed up to 15 seconds, which can be fun with glow-in-the-dark toys:
Here's macro mode (through dirty glass):
Testing random input filters...

And now for something completely different:
