Rhythm

I wonder if some day we'll be probing around in people's brains and will discover musical rhythms turning the cranks of cognition? Do you suppose when you're running across the planes with a dozen fellow tribesmen weaving through the brush, hot in pursuit of a fleeing buffalo, that there's a little drummer in your head playing the chasing-the-buffalo tune? Speed up this part, slow down that, gimme three cycles of visual processing, then one spacial re-calibration.. every eighth beat synchronize with the other tribesmen... Can you hear it?
