Tainted Samples

Once upon a time, I had access to a couple of synths, a voice, a guitar, and a four-track tape deck. I recently digitized those tapes, to preserve them against hungry tape decks and other ravages of time. I was going to burn them onto a CD for my permanent archives, but I figured as long as I had them on the computer, I may as well toss a few samples on my home page. I'm calling the CD "Tainted Samples", since it's really just notes and experiments... never intended for anyone else to hear...

These notes were mostly recorded in stereo, by hopping back and forth between pairs of tracks on my four track (so I could get, for instance, eight stereo tracks in one song, by myself, with a four-track). So, there's lots of hiss, and little structure. (It's rather a challenge to plan and play eight tracks of a song all the way through, one-by-one, when you hardly know how to play the instruments in the first place... So, I mostly didn't plan ).

These are mp3 files. There are free mp3 players on the web if your browser doesn't handle them already.
