The Panel
Some friends of mine make a special crush plate (I call it
the "Hush Plate") with holes pre-tapped for dynamic balance weights.
It really does make it run smoother:
Having an access panel in the nose is really handy. It gives direct
access to the battery (located right under the panel), and makes taking
the canard on and off a snap:
Unfortunately, Bob had to add some new access holes, to access the
gear bolts. They had started to come loose, and he was unable to
tighten them as they were spinning on the other (inaccessible) side.
So he drilled through to access them from the outside. One could
patch the holes easily enough, but I would think placing a small
plastic cover over them would be better, to retain access in case
you ever want to swap gear legs, or whatever. (Check
