March of the Earthly Possessions

I still get the occasional email asking to buy some of my (long gone) stuff, so I updated my life-for-sale page to say it's (mostly) all gone, and also uncommented all the sold stuff so everything I started with is once again visible. I'll keep it online to serve as a warning to myself. :) Either that, or a shopping list, depending on my mood. Heh heh.

Meanwhile, I continue phase-II culling of my junk, trying to get it down to what I can pack or unpack from the car in ten minutes. I kept a tall plastic-drawer unit to serve as my dresser, and a shorter one to serve as my office desk, and a few blue tubs to hold misc clothes, towels, books, and any remaining cruft. Ideally, I just have to load five or six such items into my car (plus my computer) and I'm on the road in a moment's notice. Ought to be able to move into a guest or hotel room in ten minutes and have my whole "home" right there.

Not that I'm keen to live this way indefinitely, but it keeps my options open for now.

Kalistrya* sent me this great quote yesterday:

"The test of an adventure is that when you're in the middle of it, you say to yourself, 'Oh now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home.' And the sign that something's wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure." - Thorton Wilder

My life, like most, lies somewhere inbetween.
