Wanganui

(Note, no pics or much to report between Takaka and Picton)

At first Wanganui seemed charmingly quiet. Then kind of eery. Once the cruisers (and no one else) came out, we dubbed it post-appocolyptic Dunedin. Note this shot is at 6:30pm on a Saturday:

We sat on a bench and counted pedestrians between 6:45 and 7pm. There were 15. On a Saturday. In what seemed about as central as it gets.

Wandering a few blocks away we came accross this building. We wondered what experiments must be going on inside...

The hostel had a trampoline. Weee!

No padding on the edges, though. I almost straddled the bar once or twice. Can you imagine a hostel having a trampoline at all in the states?
