Synchronous Success

Two calls came in at the same time today: I sold my business, and we got the Sudbury place.

A few minutes later, I got another call. We got our second-choice house too--a nice little two-bedroom overlooking a gulch, within walking distance of Makawao. It would have been a great place to live, and a good price too ($700/mo), but there's no way we could pass up the novelty of the Sudbury school situation, so I had to decline. I felt like a bit of a premadona, turning down the best house we'd seen, in the midst of this major housing crunch. Heh.
