Enable Preview
Adds a thumbnail preview of your image to the Settings screen,
which updates as you select styles or change parameters. Tapping
the thumbnail will Painteresque your image with the current
settings. Beware that enabling this setting can use more memory.
Preview Size
Adjust the size of the preview image. The larger it is, the slower
it will update.
Max Output Size
Scales your input image down to no larger than this width or
height. This can make it run considerably faster, but with a
smaller resulting image. If you are getting Out of Memory messages,
then Painteresque is having to scale your images down anyway, so
setting this to the largest size that doesn't get Out of Memory
errors makes sense.
Enable Remote Images
Includes remote images (such as your Picassa and Google+ images, if
you have any) in the selection gallery. Note that if your network
connection is slow or unreliable, attempting to Painteresque remote
images may be slow or unreliable.
Quick Launch
This causes Painteresque to go straight to the image selection
gallery when you first launch Painteresque, or when you exit
the Settings screen with no image selected. Otherwise it will
start at the "Ready" screen where you can choose New Image or
Settings.
Auto-sort Styles
If you enable this option, Painteresque will keep track of how often
you use certain Styles and will reorder your favorites towards the top of
the Styles list. It takes a little time for Painteresque to assess which
styles are your favorites, so be patient as it learns and sorts for you.
Enable Fine Tuning
Opens a Pandora's box of new settings to tweak and play with. Painteresque's
nine preset Styles are just saved configurations of these settings. If you
find a configuration you like, you can save your own Style or override any
of Painteresque's default Styles.
Slider Precision
Adjusts the calibration of slider bars in the Settings fields. Higher
precision requires more delicate finger sliding. The main reason to avoid
the high precision mode is that it can be very hard to hit 0. (Painteresque
generally has to do something when a parameter is set to anything other than
0, so for many parameters a setting of 1 or 2 will have little effect other
than to make it slower to process.)
Create Style
Saves your current settings as a named Style which will show up in
the Style menu henceforth. If you name it the same as one of Painteresque's
built-in styles, yours will override the built-in version. If you name it the
same as one of your own previously saved Styles, it will replace it.
Styles are saved by their name in Android/data/org.sifter.painteresque/files/settings/
so you can use any file browser to backup your custom Styles or share them with
others.
Delete Style
Deletes one of your custom styles. Aim carefully as there is no "are you
sure" dialogue if you should hit the wrong one. If you delete a custom
style by the same name as one of Painteresque's built-in styles, it will
restore Painteresque's built-in version.
