Bureaucratic Limbo



This simple question came from globe hopping B: "What happens if you are turned back by immigration at an airport?" Good question; presumably you have to fly back to your point of origin. But do you pay, or the government, or the airline? And what the hell happens if you are turned back by immigration on both sides? Would you then be consigned to live out your years, wandering the airport halls like a zombie, victim of interminable bureaucratic paradox, until you slipped your mortal coil?

I would think this a hoax, but I just can't look at his picture there without thinking "yes, this is a man who has been waiting in an airport for ten years." It makes me laugh, it nearly makes me cry.
